| Consider this a public service background piece for those readers who are reluctant to plunk down the price of the Tremaine On Earth ink on paper set from our on line store. As a demonstration of our concern that our readers, even those without the complete Tandra catalog, can get the most enjoyment from our current story, herewith follows a brief account of the first origin of the of Tandra’s costumed hero. Elbert Mollinberd was a comic book collector. He had more comic books than almost anyone. Then Elbert Mollinberd grew up, discovered girls and moved to the suburbs and, one fine day, his mother tossed out all his comic books. With the rising crime rate and police corruption the big news stories of the day, Elbert Mollinberd decided something had to be done. He was walking the streets when he passed a comics shop and went inside. Shelf after shelf of super hero comics reminded him of his childhood obsession and he decided to become a costumed vigilante. Elbert Mollinberd went home and began working out while he made himself a costume. When he was ready, he put on his new outfit and called himself the Valet of Justice. Trouble was, Elbert could never arrange to bo at a crime scene before the police showed up. How did comic book guys always arrive first? Finally one night, Elbert came upon a mugging in progress and swooped down upon the bad guys, except his billowing cape became tangled in his rope and he smashed into a building. The muggers escaped and Elbert Mollinberd was in the hospital for weeks. When he recovered, he trashed the cape and went back to looking for opportunity to fight crime. At last he succeeded when he nabbed a teenager robbing a pawn shop. Meantime, a convicted child murderer was released from prison on appeal and Elbert Mollinberd decided to go after him. When another child was slain, Elbert Mollinberd burst into the suspect’s apartment and punished him by swift justice. There was only one problem. The suspect was not guilty of this recent murder nor of those for which he had been convicted. He was completely innocent and his conviction in court had actually been a mistake in procedure. The real child murderer continued his killing spree. Subsequently, Elbert Mollinberd was shot as he attempted to apprehend another suspect and was rushed to the hospital where he survived the gunshot wound and lived to stand trial for his activities. His lawyer pleaded mental deficiency encouraged by his comic book fascination and Elbert Mollinberd was placed in the state mental institution where he was at last approached by Senator R. Miles Haggerty as revealed three weeks ago in Tandra Page 1065. Now you are up to speed on the Valet of Justice who has been reinvented as the Patriot Commando, the world’s first Pee See costumed vigilante! For many of you, however, the above synopsis will not be enough to give you the full picture and you can still purchase the Tremaine On Earth ink on paper set from our Tandra Store. May the sun always shine on your parade! Next Week; “Anti-terror Mission” Tandra...more than escapist fantasy, it’s a revolution! Hanther |
